Dan Salois, PhD, LCPC, appreciates working with kids, teens, and adults as they navigate through their grief experiences. He has worked at therapeutic homes for kids and has been counseling individuals and groups since he graduated from the Department of Counseling at the University of Montana in 2017. Dan is also an educator teaching classes on creating resilient and healthy relationships with loved ones, strategies for living fulfilling lives, and graduate counseling courses. He practices from a person-centered approach which involves building strong relationships with clients by empathically striving to understand their unique experience. Dan also uses strategies from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and creative expression to help clients cope with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms.
my “why”:
The experience we have after losing a significant person in our lives is unique to each of us. I find it a great honor to help support people in their journey with grief as they adjust to their new worlds. I hope to be a companion and to acknowledge the new difficulties that come with the grieving process and simultaneously examine how it can make us wiser in our daily living.
re-charging & delight finding:
I love to rejuvenate in our Montana outdoors skiing, hiking, and spending time at the lake. I also enjoy keeping up with the world of sports, trying new fun foods, and being with friends and family.
