Mackenzie (Mack) Stiff, MSW, and SWLC, brings extensive experience in mental health and social services to the Mental Health Counselor role at TGRC. With a rich background in supporting diverse populations, including refugees, veterans, teenagers, families, and the elderly, Mack has dedicated over a decade to improving lives through compassionate care and advocacy. Mack holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Social Work Candidacy License with specialized training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression (IPT-D), teens and young adults, Kinship families, and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development. Mack’s career journey includes roles as a Suicide Prevention Case Manager with Montana Veteran's Affairs, where she worked on the front lines of mental health, conducting suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and postvention support for veterans and their families. Prior to this, she managed the Montana Kinship Navigator Program, worked with the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) program to integrate mental health into primary care settings, and held a leadership position as Group Home Manager at Big Sky Youth Home, where they ensured the therapeutic needs of clients were met with creativity and care.
MY “WHy”:
My work is deeply informed by a passion for suicide prevention, postvention, and end-of-life care, recognizing the profound impact of grief and loss on individuals and communities. I am driven by the belief that grief is a universal experience, and that compassionate, timely intervention can make a crucial difference.
re-charging & delight-finding:
In addition to my professional work, I find joy in nature walks, water, reading, cooking, light hiking, animals, and art. I recharge through sports like volleyball, swimming, basketball, and board games.
