Mick Stemborski, LCPC, LAC, is part of the Counseling team at TGRC. He has specialized in grief and trauma support for people of all ages, embracing the truth of grief being inevitable throughout the course of our human life. Mick is certified in E.M.D.R Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), further guiding those who have encountered traumas of the deepest sorrow. He is dually licensed as a Clinical Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor, understanding the all-too-common relationship between mental health issues and various aspects of addiction as imperative to supporting many individuals in our society.
"Be it working with anger, depression, anxiety, despair, we are all doing our best with what we have. Hope is infectious and inspires us to grow into something even more.”
my “why”:
Mick has worked professionally in therapeutic and educational settings for over two decades including hospice and home health, experiential teen programs, acute psychiatric care and private practice. Mick holds a passion for international travel and has worked abroad in multiple countries. Also here in Montana, there is a vibrant cultural history amongst our diverse Native Peoples and their tribal lands. Experiencing a foreign culture is much like counseling; taking a step out of our familiar world to realize there are many ways to live a life.
re-charging & delight-finding:
In Montana, winter presents some of the greatest outdoor activities. Mick’s cold weather interests are skiing, snow camping, snowmobiling, and splitting firewood. Technically, fire wood is not a recreational activity but there is something spiritual between a man and his chainsaw.
